Privacy Policy
BetaBadge does not collect, sell or share any personal data. Everything you save stays on your iPhone.
What BetaBadge is
BetaBadge is an iPhone app that stores beta invite links, such as TestFlight public links, and shows any one of them as a large QR code so someone nearby can scan it. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of its own.
Information stored on your device
The links you add, along with the details you enter or the app fetches for them (app name, version, build, dates, notes and the app's icon image), and your settings, are stored only on your iPhone. Your Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read this same on-device data.
This information is never sent to us. We have no copy of it and no way to see it. Deleting a link removes it from the device, and deleting the app removes everything.
Network requests the app makes
To fill in a link's name and icon, BetaBadge makes requests directly from your device:
- TestFlight links: the app loads the public TestFlight page for the link from
testflight.apple.com, and the app icon it shows from Apple's image servers (mzstatic.com). - Other links: the app loads the web page at that link to read its title and icon, using Apple's standard link-preview system.
These requests happen when you add a link, and when the app opens and finds a saved link that doesn't have an icon yet. They go straight to those sites, not through us. Like any web request, the site receiving it can see your IP address. Those sites are run by their owners, and Apple's pages are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Clipboard
When you open the Add a link screen, BetaBadge checks whether your clipboard holds a web address and, if it does, fills it in for you. iOS may ask your permission first. The clipboard contents are used only to fill in that field and are never stored or sent anywhere. The app writes to the clipboard only when you choose Copy link or Share.
What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No third-party code or SDKs.
- No accounts, and no collection of names, email addresses, contacts, location or device identifiers.
- No selling or sharing of data, because we don't have any.
TestFlight beta testing
If you test BetaBadge through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share certain information with us as the developer, such as crash reports, feedback you choose to send, and basic device and usage details. That sharing is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy and the TestFlight terms. We use it only to fix problems and improve the app.
Children
BetaBadge is a tool for app developers and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of data changes, we'll update this page and its effective date before the change ships.
